Bratislava can be reached by car, bus, train and airplane.

 

Travel by airplane

There are two ways to get to Bratislava by plane:

  • The first possibility is a direct flight to Bratislava airport.

 

Bratislava international Airport (Airport of Milan Rastislav Stefanik) is served by several major airlines, including Ryanair airlines. The distance between the Bratislava International Airport and the city centre of Bratislava is about 7 Km. One possibility to get to the city centre is a taxi will cost around €13.

Or to Vazovova Street you may take a bus no 61 in the direction to the Main Railway Station departing each 20 minutes. Nearest stop is Racianske myto. The price for 60 minutes lasting ticket is €0.90. Ticket machine is available at almost every bus stop.

 

  • The second option is a flight to Vienna's Schwechat Airport, which is located approximately 50 km from Bratislava

Airport Schwechat (Flughafen Wien-Schwechat) has regular bus connection to Bratislava. There is a possibility to take two types of buses that go directly to Bratislava:

The one way bus ticket price is €7.70, return ticket costs €14,30.

– this is link to a complete timetable of buses going from Vienna's Schwechat  Airport to Bratislava. The journey takes approximately 45 minutes. The one way bus ticket price is €7.20.

The bus stop in Bratislava is at Novy most (New bridge) - this stop is directly in the center of Bratislava.

Because of cross border restriction taxi trip to Vienna airport is prohibited to Slovak taxi drivers and therefore may be expensive. It is possible to take also train, but since no direct connection from Vienna's Schwechat Airport to Bratislava, it is not advisable.

 

Public transport from Bratislava's Main Bus Station

Main bus station - Mlynske Nivy is also less than 2 km away. There are more options to come to Vazovova. One of them is trolley bus No. 210 with stop at Racianske myto.

 

Public transport from Bratislava's Main Train Station

The Main train station (Hlavna stanica) is situated app. 1 kilometer from the University. Vazovova street could be reached walking or by taxi. Railway station Petrzalka (destination of some trains from Vienna) is app. 8 km far away from the University. Bus no. 94 will take you directly to Vazovova Street. You need 60 minutes ticket for public transport which costs €0.90. Ticket machine is available at almost every bus stop.

 

Travel by car

Bratislava is 60 km from Vienna. It is possible to take highway A4, then A6/E58, with direction Bratislava. You will enter the center of Bratislava through the New bridge (on the left site is the castle on the right site the cathedral). If you will get on to the bridge you have now straightway of 3 kilometers to Vazovova street. You may use the map or some route planner like maps.google.com.
